Frequently asked questions

How far are you willing to travel?

We regularly perform all over the UK and Europe and distance is never an issue.

How long are your live sets?

It depends on the event and the setup for the evening.

Generally speaking we recommend 2 x 60 minute or 1 x 90 minute live sets, although these are only recommendations. If you would like a different format we shall be happy to oblige.

Can we choose the songs you play?

Yes! Our repertoire is extensive and our Director of Music will work with you to design your bespoke set lists.

Will you play our first dance live?

All of our standard packages with the exception of our Fixed package offer a free live first dance of your choice. Obviously, being a band we won’t be able to replicate the likes of a symphony orchestra or choir, but we’re yet to find a song we haven’t been able to perform live.

How far in advance should we book?

We work on a first come first served basis and have some bookings 3 years in advance of the event. To make sure you get your date, call us as soon as possible.

How do we confirm a booking?

When you enquire about a date we will hold it, free of charge for up to14 days, after which we ask for a 10% booking fee to secure it. This is deducted from the total agreed fee, with the balancing payment due in cleared funds at least 14 days before the event.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. We will work with you to design a line-up to suit your event and budget and then send you a quote with a cost breakdown of your booking. This may include items such as lighting or a dance floor, but only if you have requested them and agreed on the price.

Do you provide a service contract?

Absolutely. A contract with our terms & conditions will be sent out with your invoice or in advance upon request.

We’ve booked the band…what do we need to do now?

Very little. We deal directly with your venue so you don’t need to add more to your wedding ‘to-do’ list.  Your UTC Event Manager will contact you 6 weeks prior to your event to finalise the itinerary and, more excitingly, put a personalised set list together with you. We arrange these details as close to the date as possible so that you receive the very latest set lists.

Can we have music earlier on in the day?

No problem! All of our musicians are successful professionals and play as soloists, in duets, jazz groups, choirs and we even have a comedy skiffle group amongst us! Please don’t hesitate to ask us for further details.

Do we need a DJ as well?

Absolutely not! We provide a free DJ service utilising the latest in automated DJ software so you needn’t spend the extra money. The music played in between and after sets can be chosen by you or by our eager staff should you prefer.

What time will you set up?

Our entertainment packages require approximately 90 minutes to set up and sound check and a standard quote will include a 6pm arrival time. Earlier set ups and late finishes are absolutely possible at a small additional cost so please do ask us.

Is your equipment PAT certificated and do you have public liability insurance?

Our equipment is all PAT certified and we have public liability insurance to cover up to £2m.  Occasionally venues require copies of these documents and we will be delighted to provide them upon request.
