2020 was a strange year for everyone and every industry; we all know what happened and how it’s affected the hospitality and events sector. However, weddings were rarely mentioned until the road back to freedom was announced back in February 2021.

As a bride or groom, I can imagine the stress and strain of planning a wedding for an uncertain 2021, let alone 2020. As I write this on the 9th of June, we are still unsure if weddings will be going ahead from the 21st June and whether they will remain at the reduced capacity of 30.

I can also understand the frustration that couples must be feeling as they see test events with thousands of attendees, all of whom are strangers, and yet weddings are still left in the dark or capped at 30.

As an industry, I believe we have been extremely let down by the Government. Having said this, the wedding industry thrives with caring and considerate employees and always has. We feel that everyone at UTC Events and Under the Covers wedding band strive to go the extra mile to ensure that our wedding clients have as much clarity as possible about their big day.

I’m not sure what the next couple of weeks will hold but what I do know for sure is that when we are able to perform, they will be the best performances that Under the Covers wedding band will have ever given!
